New year and new opportunities with Rotary

A happy and healthy 2024 to all and I do hope you enjoyed the new format print magazine in January that now sits alongside this first edition of the new and exciting digital magazine.

Each new year brings a wealth of opportunity and it’s important to consider the small opportunities as being as equally important as the big change making ones that may come more easily into our line of sight.

Opportunities come in different forms and across Rotary we have a new leadership each year, giving chance for different members to lead their club. In turn, others get opportunity to take on project leadership roles or give support in general administration, keeping the collective ‘wheels’ well oiled.

This all builds into the big picture of community impact as we work together to create community resilience, response and recovery plans, supporting people in their time of need – a ‘wealth of opportunity’ right there through your Rotary membership!

So what opportunities will you take on in 2024 with Rotary?

Have you thought about how you would like to get more involved in your club’s activities or maybe how you’d like to help someone else take on a leadership role with your support and/or mentoring? Whatever you decide, it’s important to remember that every time we offer our help or step forward to take action, we are making a difference.

“MEMBERSHIP GROWTH BEGINS WITH

A STRONG MEMBER EXPERIENCE.”

One key ambition for Rotary GB&I is to help clubs create an amazing member experience. Membership growth begins with a strong member experience and from within our clubs roles, this is where we can all play a part, developing a positive, inclusive and supportive club culture.

The Membership Specialist Adviser Team (SAT) coupled with the Humanitarian, Foundation, Public Image and Leadership Development SATs, have a wealth of experience to help you help your club. Adding our time and talent to the rebuild programme we can all help create an experience at club level that leaves members keen for that next meet-up or project planning time.

You may already be aware of the different ways of being involved in Rotary and there has been recent excitement and conversation around the two new initiatives of direct membership and enterprise membership, these sit firmly alongside Club membership.

In the October-November edition of the Rotary Magazine there were many great articles and stories to inspire and ignite that spark within us all to take action so don’t forget to log-in to the member resources on the website to really build on those new ideas and learn how to get the most from your membership and create a club culture that gives everyone opportunity to be loud and proud about Rotary!
